The changes I included in this presentation were color and the amount of text. On the previous presentation the background was white with gray/blue letters. For this I used the colors that Burmark mentioned that would attract the eye better. I also made the text larger so that people in the back of a room may see. The text in some of the bullets was too great, so I reduced the amount of text by only including the most important words.

You Snooze, They Lose: Chapter 4
In chapter 4, Burkmark talks about the importance of not only catching the attention of your audience but keeping their attention. In order to achieve this she uses the acronym CHIMES to keep your audience hooked to your presentation. The acronym stands for connections, humor, images, music, emotion, stories, and senses. Although she mentioned that not all chimes might be addressed in a single presentation, she encourages the use of a few to keep the rhythm of your presentation going.

In Chapter 1, Burkman talks about some essentials that must be done in order to enhance a Powerpoint presentation. One of the things she mentions is the use of color. She lists the colors in order in which the eye is likely to see first. To my surprise I actually picked the two colors she would prefer, yellow text on blue background. Another thing she mentioned was the font that us to be used is to be clean and avoid collisions of letters. One of my favorite fonts was actually listed, Georgia. I always prefer this over Times New Roman because its a bit larger and more spaced. One thing that I learned that I must do to my presentations is to include less text and structure the bullets so that they are not as monotonous.

Creating the actual presentation was not difficult. What did take some time was all the reading that had to be done in order to get the information. It was very difficult to be reading for hours off a computer screen. Although it was difficult, I feel I did learn plenty. I thought teachers could just use at their disposal. I never before considered "fair use" into anything that I used. After reading I learned that you have to go through a checklist of items in order to determine if you have permission or not to use the materials.
